Pomegranate Heart, by Sunita S & Syaza Nadzirah
i was born
with my heart trapped
behind my ribcage
& to this day,
i still don’t see
a lock
nor do i know
where to find
the Key—
so crack my
pomegranate heart
open with your
bare hands
And let the sweet
red stain your
fingertips & seep
into your veins;
because even after
you told me that
you were going to
Break my heart
some day,
as i lay here with my heart
in my own hands,
drowning in bloody tears,
i could only ever cry
to Mother Moon
about
how much it just
Hurts so good.
