Bad Decisions, by graphikhal
Sometimes the bad decisions that i make is not entirely mine but the voices in my head thats telling me to do them.

Water, an Art explained, by Celine Tay x Masha Ramnai
Water – both powerful and calming has been a symbol of purity in some myths but a bad omen in others. It’s what you project onto it that is the true horror – what our minds can do to themselves under it’s influence. The unknown is ironically the greatest known horror to man. We put up our warning signs but are they really there for us? The real monsters are the ones that wait on the other side. With welcoming arms and a warm embrace. Yet with intentions so sinister, the things that go bop in the dark mistake them to be one of theirs.
Pomegranate Heart, by Sunita S & Syaza Nadzirah
i was born
with my heart trapped
behind my ribcage
& to this day,
i still don’t see
a lock
nor do i know
where to find
the Key—
so crack my
pomegranate heart
open with your
bare hands
And let the sweet
red stain your
fingertips & seep
into your veins;
because even after
you told me that
you were going to
Break my heart
some day,
as i lay here with my heart
in my own hands,
drowning in bloody tears,
i could only ever cry
to Mother Moon
about
how much it just
Hurts so good.
(poem by: Syaza Nadzirah)
Charcoal, by Jin Tee
Even timber that has been thoroughly stripped of life can nurture the simmering embers of hate. Every instance of indignity you inflict shall be returned threefold; a clawed hand for each of your many faces.
The Legend of Ulek Mayang, by amirror
Ulek Mayang is an ancient tale about a sea princess who fell in love with a fisherman. The princess abducted the fisherman’s soul, leaving his body unconscious. His friends called a bomoh (shaman) to heal him. When the bomoh conducted the healing ritual to bring the fisherman’s soul back, the princess appeared and responded by calling on five of her sisters to her aid. The battle between the bomoh and the six princesses continued until the seventh and the eldest princess appeared and put an end to it.
“I know your origins,” says the eldest princess, and she commands everyone, “Let those from the sea return to the sea, and those from the land to return to the land.”
The grateful bomoh and fisherman’s friends present the princess with coloured rice as an offering to the spirits of the sea.
Santubong & Sejinjang; an alternate story, by toshi
Once, there were two princesses who were cousins. They conquered perfection, with them being unbeaten in every single category ever imagined. They had beauty, grace, talent and were loved by their people. One was named Santubong; who lived in a small village called Pantai Biru. The latter referred to as Sejinjang, settled in Pasir Kuning. Both of them were inseparable, albeit living in two villages with considerable distance between them, they still managed to make time to meet each other. The villages and deities lived in peace for a long time, due to the closeness of their guardian princesses. That is until fate changed with the arrival of a certain person.
Serapi. That was the name of the disaster which fell upon the two lovely ladies. A prince, he was. With dashing looks enough to enchant every person, if they’d ever lay eyes on him. The charm he displayed was enough to turn every man in envy, at the same time, admiration for not just his good looks, but also the way he carried himself. However, that was only on the surface. The man was sneaky, manipulative and a sweet talker. He wanted to woo the two as he was indecisive, greedy, which raged Santubong, the more perceptive of the two.
How could a singular prince dare pit them up against each other? They were more than that! But that was only what Santubong thought, Sejinjang on the other hand fell helplessly in love with the man. “We only have each other, how could you betray me for that pathetic excuse of a being?!” Santubong was having an outburst of anger to her cousin, for the first time ever! But Sejinjang tried to defend the man’s actions. ‘Why is she like this?’ Santubong thought. Had this been the work of dark magic the man is capable of? Thoughts ran wild in her head that she lost her rationale and went in to end her cousin’s life.
What ever did happen right after the incident? Putera Serapi was nowhere to be found, we wondered why? Puteri Sejinjang and Santubong got involved in a huge quarrel. And so, each of them got hurt, one was stabbed the other was hit across the cheek and was left a dent. Facing the wrath from the Elysium, the deities were cursed. Sejinjang was found to be in pieces and became an island as Santubong solidified and turned into a mountain. The truth to Sejinjang’s limbs and trunks mutilated was due to Santubong’s rage where she’d cut the other to keep her to herself. For she couldn’t bear it. She could never let any other have her.

Call, by Vishnu Selva
Moonlight, the Sun’s sparing grace, illuminates this humble patch of land you left me on. Bathed in heaven’s waning sympathy, I wait, religiously, in this lonely place, for you, my kin, who still traverse the mortal realm. I wait, with the offerings you left at my decaying feet; white jasmines.
The wind carries my faint but relentless calls, a haunting, a sweeping scent as light as a feather, stretching further than my phantom arms pinned under this tomb you carved for me.
Under the peaceful gaze of the night, the jasmines’ scent will reach you, tickling your senses. An eruption of goosebumps, a chime of recognition; I am still here. This scent — my call — will guide you in my direction. You will finally see me; your past, your regrets, your nightmares.
So, turn. I am waiting.
